Because you’re in house number 2 on the 2400 block, and 2+2400=2402.
Don’t ask me why it’s the 2400 block, though. Usually that means you’re between 24th and 25th Ave., or between 23rd and 24th. But you’re not, if Ann’s house is where I think it is.
EXACTLY! I got that with Sarah’s house (919 – it’s between 9th & 10th Ave) but ours? We’re on a street that’s both parallel to AND between 8th & 9th…
Anyway… good to know there’s some kind of system. And in cities where it’s ACTUALLY built on a grid I guess that would work!!!
