Long overdue
Yeah… so the hours turn into days turn into weeks and there’s no blog. It’s partly due to being distracted by life (a good thing) and partly the age-old bloggers favourite of finally having something that spins words into gold, and not being either willing or able to share them on a public forum.
Suffice to say… I am still in love with Nashville. It is a city that carves it’s name on my heart again and again, packed to the gunnells with some of the most wonderful people God on this green earth.
Here’s some nuggets from the past couple of weeks:

Sammy’s Dancing Smile
We had an impromptu dance party one evening… round and round the table in the dining womb. Each child picked a song and we danced with abandon. Photos were taken during Sam’s choice; Elevation by U2.
One of Peter’s choices was “Robothead”, better known as Dreamer by Supertramp; and his new favourite song. When he listens to music, he really listens.
The last few days were full of friends and love and the kids. Leaving was particularly hard this time…
I flew back through Toronto, wonderfully with Cary for the first leg, and slept for 90% of the transatlantic flight. My bags, however, didn’t have such a great journey ad decided they couldn’t be bothered to leave Canada for a day or so. The bonus of having delayed luggage is, of course, that they deliver it to you… so instead of struggling with an over-weight suitcase on the tube I had it dropped at my doorstep by a nice man the following evening. Not so bad after all!
For the first time in as long as I can remember, I was looking forward to going back to work. The shows are so good at the moment. Adam & Joe’s podcast is riding high in the charts (please go and subscribe to it on iTunes… I wanna be number 1!) and the boys (SM and JH included) are all a delight to work with.
Saturday night was my cousin Suzi’s 30th Birthday. She had a fancy dress party with a ‘white’ theme – no she’s not a little bit racist, just thought it was a broad enough theme to get everyone involved. ok?? – and everyone REALLY went for it. Cath and I decided to bring it in ways only we can.
It was a great night, made better by meeting a member of my family I’ve never met before! Mark is our half second cousin through my Grandma. Not only is he devastatingly handsome, but a totally wonderful man who actually might change the world. And he’s only 24. It’s amazing to be so proud of someone within 10 minutes of meeting them… Welcome to the family Mr Koller.

Cath and Mark
(BTW the jury’s split between Joseph Feinnes and Neil Finn)
Today I had my first ‘proper’ day off for nearly a month. Here in the flat pottering and getting distracted. Long conversations that made my heart sing, laughs with friends, finally tidying my room… and I have another one to revel in tomorrow.
As ever, there are hoards more photos on Flickr. click on any of the images to go through to the full sets.
