Week 1

I’ve been here for 7 days then. Confusions with the new camera and the new laptop has slowed down my ability to upload photos and I wanted to wait till I had something to show yous I guess…

Bat tower

Originally uploaded by Jude Adam.

Although I was surprised to see that the Bat Tower is now re-labelled for at&t (rival phone company), all else is wonderfully familiar.

Before I forget, I’ve added a couple of links to the list of blogs. I have been wowed and wooed by some new writing recently over at the wow and flutter of Ahnalog, and at the house of Mrs Metaphor. Go and check them out. I have to be friends with [...]

She’s Leaving Home, Bye Bye

Home
After 31 years and 1 month my parents moved out of our family home. It’s a move that’s been coming for a while, but that didn’t make the final goodbye any less of a wrench.
There are so many happy memories tied up in those brinks and mortar and although, as I was reminded, [...]

compass anyone?

Central Stairs. Fortnum & Mason. December 2007.
I stop and peer over:  The shapes, the light and the amazing tree at the bottom are beautiful, but to get to the final sweeping stairs you have to exit the room and come in again on a different level.
I turn my back on last year [...]
