Making Someone’s Day

I had a list of things I had to get done today. One was to call the record company to find out if I was able to see a certain band this week. They’re playing for four nights this week at a pair of very small venues (which sold out in around 20 [...]

Grandma

Grandma
Originally uploaded by Jude Adam.

Grandma died on Sunday evening.
She slipped very peacefully away just before 10pm. She was ready to go.
We all went to Mum & Dads on Monday, children and grandchildren, and just … were. We had a big pub lunch, ate cake, watched a DVD, and drank our body weight in [...]

No Pain, No Pain.

Wise H emailed today with a new motto for 2007: No Pain, No Pain. As a bastardisation of No pain, No Gain, I like it a whole lot better. Cut out the pain to cut out the pain. Use our intsincts to tell us what we need. Don’t try to [...]

… and breathe.

It’s never really done when you think it is, I know this full well, but this evening I feel like I’ve got to the end of a very long and arduous uphill climb.
Since my return from Nashvillelandofmyheart at the beginning of November I’ve been ridiculously busy at work with a big extra project, christmas prep, [...]

Walk In The Woods

My Nieces
Originally uploaded by Jude Adam.

Between Christmas and New Year we squeezed in a walk in Wendover Woods with my nieces. Fun at the park, and making a camp… it doesn’t get much better than that.
There’s now some photos on Flickr.

Call Centres Are Nice (or, Check Your Bills)

Three calls to three different call centres this morning, all of which were handled efficiantly and with aplomb by the people who picked up. Nice people from the Midlands and the North East who were polite, kind, funny, and knew what they were doing. Hoorah!
My favourite was the fella at Orange. On [...]

My Fave Photo, like, EVER

get off you freak!Originally uploaded by solobasssteve.

New Year’s Eve. McEwan’s House. About 1am. Lawson plants a smacker and I (pretend to) look distressed into his cameraphone.  Makes me laugh out loud every time I see it.
There is a ‘return’ photo.  But Steve looks like Jonathan King and I look just a bit too racey for it [...]

Resolution 1

I’ve decided that, whenever possible, I’m going to take the bus rather than the tube.
I find the tube stressful and the bus relaxing.  I got the bus from work to Vauxhall on the way home bothyesterday and today, and though it takes about 15 minutes longer, it’s so much nicer.  No elbows, crushes, people trying [...]

Catching Up

I got to bed a little before 10 last night, and my alarm went of at 7 this morning.
When walking around in a complete daze, I don’t know how I manage to forget so often that I am a girl who needs her sleep.
Now… if only I could drag my carcass out of bed.

Happy New Year!

I’m sitting on the sofa in Gareth’s house, on Lawson’s computer… that has virtually no letters left on the keyboard. This could be an interesting post. I’m actually impressed at how far I’ve come so far by touch-typing my way through.
There’s some lovely pics from last night, the best taken by [...]
