tired eyes

I wish I was awake enough to write about how beautiful the sky was today, right before is snowed really hard for about 3 minutes.

I wish my eyes didn’t hurt so I could talk about how great the shows have been over the last few days… how we’ve been getting people to tell us what the 6th CDs are in their collection – 6th from the start and 6th from the end.  (Amazing Pilots Hello My Captor, and Wonder Stuff Construction For The Modern Idiot)  You?

I wish I wasn’t about to fall asleep so I could say what a fantastic night I had watching brian Houston and Buddy Miller.  That I had the energy to put up the photos I took, and to say how much I loved spending time with that fabulous group of people that are my Greenbelt buddies.

but no.

Asleep I am.

look–>  zzzzzzzzzzz  <– see?

  • 6th from the start of what?

The 6th CD you ever bought, or the 6th at the start of your shelf?

Mine are in piles, and in different groups on different shelves…I can’t cope with the question… I could tell you my 6th vinyl album…

The first vinyl album I ever bought was “Death Walks Behind You” by Atomic Rooster. I thought I’d share that with you.

  • it’s the 6th cd/vinyl/single frm=on the front and the back of however you store them. If they’re in piles pick the pile on the left anf count from the top, then the pile on the right and count from the bottom. it’s interesting to see who’s anal/alphabetical and who isn’t.

for me, I have about half my entire CD collection here in London, and none of my vinyl. They are stored alphabetically on my lovely new shelves.

so come on… don’t let Colin hog all the comments! ;o) Tell me yours!

  • I’m very sorry to be hogging all the comments… but I’ve looked…

    Bartok “Concerto for orchestra”
    Beach Boys “Pet Sounds”

From this you can surmise either:
    a) My CDs have been randomised by a paricularly abstract process.
or b) They are in alphabetical order, but I only own CDs by artists beginning with B.

Just looked at my vinyl too:

    King Crimson “Red”
King Crimson “In the Wake of Poseidon”

From this you can surmise either:
    a) My vinyl albums have been randomised by a paricularly abstract process.
or b) All my (500 or so) albums are by King Crimson.

Again, apologies for hogging the blog (is that an expression) but it’s Saturday lunchtime and I am bored !

  • Your darlin’ friend bananie found out I’m digging pointed me here and I’m glad she did.

6th cd from first: Linkin Park: ReAnimation
6th cd from last: Verve: Remixed 2

It would seem I dig remixes :)

  • welcome trixie! any friend of Annie’s is a friend of mine.

  • Gar

Since I am pretty much everything needs to be in alphabetical order with my cd….you have

Ryan Adams – Heartbreaker in at number 6
Yes- Fragile at 6 from the end.

So how was Buddy Miller? Though I live in the same town as him I’ve never seen a solo show though the album is probably one of my most favorite ever…..

    take care friend….

  • pab

6th from the front on my iTunes is Gemma Hayes’ “4:35am” EP; 6th from the back is Bruce Cockburn’s “You’ve Never Seen Everything”. Not too shabby, I think.

  • Lovely Gar… Buddy way amazing. His ‘tar playing is quite something, and his voice sounds like a bluesman’s should…. I shut my eyes and felt like I was at The Station Inn – just without the popcorn in plastic baskets.

    lub ya.
