Fandango
Tonight 6 Music and Club Fandango presented Larrikin Love, Roland Shanks and Little Man Tate at the Water Rats in Kings Cross.
A cracking night with three bands much favoured on the show. L.M.T. came in this afternoon for a chat as our New Favourite Band, and proved to be so utterly lovely they illicited a spontaneous round of applause from all three of us at the end of the interview. Class.
Having seen them tonight I think they’re probably my new favourite band… alongside CORD and Captain fo course. And Be Your Own PET. (I could be here all night.)
All this said, not to take away from the other two bands who were also really great. Headliners Larrikin Love were preceded on stage as usual by a poet (favourite line? When I needed hankie, all you gave me was a tissue of lies. nice.) then whipped up a storm. Middle band Roland Shanks must be doing something right as their entire front row was made up of cool Japanese girls. I just love the fact their Moog player looks REALLY like Bruno Morelli from Kids From Fame. Blurry photos of all three on Flickr so you can see if you agree!
