Pardon?

6 Music’s Pretty Ancient gig last night was amazing, but very LOUD.  My right ear is still, at 8am Friday morning, operating at less than optimum level. That is… I can’t hear very well at all.
I do have some pictures but I’ll put them up tonight.  This morning I’m trying to get a review finished [...]

Fandango

Little Man Tate
Originally uploaded by Jude Adam.
Tonight 6 Music and Club Fandango presented Larrikin Love, Roland Shanks and Little Man Tate at the Water Rats in Kings Cross.
A cracking night with three bands much favoured on the show. L.M.T. came in this afternoon for a chat as our New Favourite Band, and proved to be [...]

in other news…

Today as I got to work (a bit late as I’m fighting off the latest bug to be flying round the office) I noticed there were police officers diverting traffic away from Hallam St – which is right outside out our office.
Turns out there was a burst water-main. Terribly inconvenient to the traffic, and a [...]

David Gray at the Apple Store

Originally uploaded by Jude Adam.

Marky read that David Gray was doing an ‘intimate london show’ the other day, and this morning told me it was tonight at the apple store. I fired off an email to Jasper (at the [...]

new blog

my good friend Flibbityflu has joined up with some friends on a very promising new blog.
Well it certainly made me laugh.

Bob

I’ve never got Bob Dylan. I know, I know… “Hello, My name’s Jude and I’ve never really liked Bob Dylan.” Some would think that it’s an embarrasing confession to make as a woman of my profession, but I’m not really ashamed – I’ve never even been able to muster up the strength of feeling to [...]

Word to your mum…

‘Home’ for the weekend for Aunty Caroline’s birthday and Mothering Sunday. Great to have more time with family, particularly as two of my cousins are about to have babies; in fact P gets induced on Tuesday. wow. they’ll be great parents.
Saturday evening was spent watching Dad sing in the local amateur choral society, who raise [...]

It’s a tough gig when the crowd only know a couple of songs, but they more than carried it. You could see the sea of industry-esque nodding heads were just itching to be jumping up and down, but didn’t feel secure enough to do [...]

Phones and Pigeons

Today was a pretty good day all round.  My phone finally turned up at about 11.30.  I may have hugged the courier. (I’m still short of numbers! I have about 10 so far. Send me a text with your name in or email me with yours.)
We were all in great moods Chez Lamacq Show, leading [...]

Thanks Palace!

Leeds 0 – Crystal Palace 1.  That’ll do nicely.
Now COME ON YOU ‘ORNS!

good day bad day

well… bad day good night really.
The frustration continued as I got into work at 8.30 so as to be present when my replacement phone arrived (with passport to prove I’m me) between 9 and 1. Of course 1pm came and went and now I have to do the same thing again tomorrow, which makes for [...]

Theiving B*stards and the Lazy Lavender Hill Mob

Tonight I had my bag nicked. Gits. theiving hippy dole-cheats.
It was right besinde my right ankle. I listened to an answerphone message, throw my phone back in my bag… half an hour later it had vanished into thin air. I didn’t notice anyone pass, New Friend Simon didn’t notice anyone pass (and he [...]

Naked Poetry in Bethnal Green

I went to see Zoe doing burlesque again this evening. The Teasemaids were brilliant once more, and some of the other acts were mighty fine too.
Opening the proceedings was a great girl who sang in English and Roumanian and played the ukelele… even though she’s a bangladeshi girl from Shepherds Bush. She was even funny [...]

Pigtails

Today I wore my hair in pigtails. I forget how long my hair is now until I plait it and feel my pigtails banging against my shoulder blades.
Today I had lunch with my friend Alex. Alex and I have been friends for a loooong time. I believe I went to her 6th birthday party. For [...]

Racing

They’re Off

Yesterday Cath and I took mum and dad to the first day of the Cheltenham Festival.
A brilliant day of racing, an amazing atmosphere, and fascinating to see the reacecourse being used in the way it was designed, rather than for [...]

169,752

Just 9 minutes, (only) three levels completed, it’s late, I’m tired… but I got a new high score.
I may be a loser.  but I don’t care.

Good Night And Good Luck

Went to see Good Night And Good Luck with Cath. In the opening minutes I was worried that I might be disappointed, not just with the fact that the middle thrid of the screen was out of focus, but it gripped us both.
Not everyone in the screen felt the same. The loud, popcorn-eating, family with [...]

off colour

I feel a bit rubbish today. headache, uncomfortable tummy, dizzy and cotton-wool-y.
Lammo made me feel better by making me laugh a lot during the show. The highlight being his impression of trying to smoke a cigarette after getting home from the dentist, while 90% of his face was still anaesthetised.
Comic genius. Who knew?

Heels

I was meant to be going to a bit of a posh do last night so I went to work in my heels. They’re not particularly high or anything, they’re just a lot higher and smarter than anything else I usually wear.
How do most girls do it every day? By the end of the [...]
