It was great listening to R1 tonight on my way from doing a tiny gig in Birmingham, and hearing all the fantastic music in honour of John Peel… Venetian Snares especially sounded ace. Must have been amazing to have been there Incredible stuff.

And obviously the only place to celebrate Peel Day properly is at Darbucka in Clerkenwell – Rise Kagona from the Bhundu Boys, Steve Lawson and Calamateur – a finer bill than you’ll find anywhere else in London this evening.
