Cyborg

Nicked from Bananie

love it

Tired but clean!

The post-greenbelt-shower is the best of the year. Even if you’ve managed to grab one over the weekend in a leaky soggy shower block, or even someone’s hotel room, there’s nothing quite like spending 20 minutes in your own bathroom getting the grime and stink of a weekend in a field off your skin.
What [...]

Another pic

BHPip and Ian in the village… the sun was behind us… I’M SUNBURNED!

Here!

Radar and I in in the office…

More to come later x

Bow Down before my organisation!

It’s Wednesday morning. I am packed.
Clothes, shoes etc in one bag. Duvets and blankets in another. Camping chairs ready by the door. Half the kitchen stuff is packed in bags with the rest to go in tonight. Bathroom stuff can wait till tomorrow morning.
Tonight I go home to [...]

Diseased!

Ladies and gentelmen, I am proud to annouce that I have recently contracted Hepititas A, Diptheria, Tetanus and… something else. I have to go somewhere else to contract Polio, and only need to give myself a mild form of Malaria about aweek before I travel.
Yes indeed, a month from today I’ll be heading [...]

a random act of senseless beauty

I sat on the tube looking at the array of life around me.
An old man lowered himself gingerly into his seat and prompty fell asleep, his hat slipping from his hand to rest on top of his briefcase.
A guy tutted at the report of the weekend game in the sports section. [...]

The Cheeky Double Feature

My good friends in Nashville once introduced me to the Sneaky Double Feature. This is where you buy a ticket to one film then, as you’re leaving, check out what’s on in the other screens, and if there’s something that you both like and is starting around now – in you go.
This was never [...]

Crash

Saw Crash this afternoon. Totally as good as I’d hoped with twists and turns, dark humour and redemption, and no over-glossy ending.
Great performances from Matt Dillon, Thandie Newton, Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle (at least he’s not doing a REALLY bad British accent) and even Ludcris.
If you haven’t seen it yet – go. It’s [...]

some guerilla art

it’s not quite Banksy… but we passed by this near St Martins In the Field whilst walking home…

Obsessions

I’m now getting obsessed with checking the weather for Greenbelt. Why? I can’t control it and I’m going to pack for all possibilities anyway… so I’m not sure.
When the long range forecast first went up it looked cool but dry (I felt great). Then by Wednesday they were promising rain Friday night, [...]

Lunch

Met lovely Pip for lunch at his favourite place in the world – the New Picadilly cafe. What a great place. I may have to start frequenting when I’m down that end of town.
My head is so busy with stuff that needs to be sorted for Greenbelt, which all mixes in with work [...]

Waiting For The Weather

With The Festival coming up in 10 days time the long range forecasts should be covering it… I’ve been checking every day over the weekend and the one free site that offers 14 day forecasts HASN’T BEEN UPDATING. Humph.
Their Festival check is looking good though, with the % chance of rain falling every [...]

Sophie & Al

All weddings are unique, but I knew that Sophie would need something truly different. Thus – she got married in a pub.
For a girl who’s done church in pubs for the last ten years it made total sense, and it wasn’t like she was picking her way across sticky carpet and between [...]

First Win Of The Season

The Glory Hornets got their first actual glory of the new championship season this evening with an away win against Cardiff City. 3 – 1.
Four of us at work have started making predictions each Friday as to how our respective teams will do in their weekend games. We predict results for Colchester [...]

Tuesday Morning

Greenbelt Management Group meeting last night… The final one before the festival. It’s looking amazing. It’s strange not being on the planning group in that I know less of what’s going on this year (I can barely remember what bands we’ve booked – and that’s my area!), but what I DO know is [...]

To jump or not to jump…

All the changes at the BBC came home today as our emails were delivered offering us the chance to volunteer for redundancy.
It’s weird for me in that my job (very luckily) isn’t at risk, so I didn’t really expect to be given the option at all. When it was there, in print, in [...]

beat

I’m re-reading On The Road by Jack Kerouac and the whole idea of “beat” is resonating all over. The physical act of journeying aiding the abstract journey from high place to high place, from a to b, from oasis to oasis. The very situation of being so tired that you become exhilerated, [...]
