shelves

flat update:
Dad has been a hero and put up lots of shelves. last night, to wear off some adrenaline, we filled them.

best of the bunch

It took a little longer than usual for the funnies to start. These are my favourite two from today.

robbed

It WAS a goal.
We didn’t play as well as them, but we DID win the match. It was dissallowed and then they went on to win.
England = Al Gore

more listening

I’m doing another listening afternoon and thought you might like to join me again.
*Polysics – Polysics Or Die (albums) mad, crazy japanese electro-punk. GENIUS great cover of My Sharona by The Nack, and a guest spot from Nick Beggs of Kaja Goo Goo.
*No Hope In New Jersy – Narcolepsy (single) ok rocky stuff but [...]

Bush Hall Pics

Tuesday night at The Bush Hall was almost a dream line-up for me and mine: Cathy Burton, Duke Special, Sarah Masen and Brian Houston.
It was great. I heart them all and don’t understand why they’re not very famous. Well I do understand, but still don’t think it’s fair. Anyway here’s some [...]

bittersweet

My week has been busy, and a bit of the old 2003 fear began to creep in.
Last night I went down to Brighton for the last night of the tour and cried for the first hour of the show. But, about half way through, I suddenly remembered that I was happy; [...]

A-Praised

I had my appraisal today. A seemingly pointless excersize since I’ve only been here for 10 weeks, but what an interview!
The BBC has come up with a new system where the apraisee pretty much does all the work themselves, and then the apraiser just agrees or disagrees, and they come to a concencus.
For my achievements [...]

The Headlines

The move went really well
The flat is amazing
There’s bits to do but mum and dad have been amazing and dad even came round tonight to put up more shelves.
my bed is new and huge and oh-so-comfortable
I have the worst and ugliest temporary wardrobe that looks like a Wendy House and keeps wanting to fall down
Sarah [...]

Kiss My Art

Incidentally here at 6music there’s a great new feature called Paintbox Jury on Gideon Coe’s show where you have to guess the album cover drawn on the rubbish paintbox thing on your computer.
Today’s one was done by MEEEEE!!!
go and have a look and feel free to submit some great art of your own.
edit: as [...]

You Complete Me

We’ve completed on the flat!!! For those who didn’t see them before here are the pictures of the home I now OWN!!!! (well half with my sister, but what’s mine is hers etc etc…)

Wow Wow Wow Wow

look down

I’ve added my features pics…

ovewhelmed and overheated

it’s hot. the airconditioning in the office has broken and I’m already a bit of a sweaty heap even though I’ve been here just an hour.
I’m feeling somewhat overwhelmed with the tasks of the week ahead: Mad busy at work, A set of notes to finish, and the small matter of packing up [...]

Rufus

I’ve just discovered Rufus Wainwright. He does moan on a bit sometimes, but when the orchestrations get thick and the oh-so-OK-Computer guitars kick in on the track I Don’t Know What It Is it takes me to that place: The place that I can only get to once in a blue moon; that’s [...]

totally awsome moon, dude

Tonight Mike called us to look out of the doors at the back of the house. Was the top of the local hill/mountain on fire? It certainly looked that way, and the fire was spreading across the hill-top.
It wasn’t fire. It was the moon rising; a massive, fat, glorious, bright-orange [...]

I heart Jon Stewart

Last summer I was addicted to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The best kind of political satire, and given that it’s American it’s somehow even better…
anyway. please go to Nina’s blog – follow the link over there -> and click through to read the speach he made as he was awarded an [...]

the piano man

I was wandering through Avignon and I could hear the sound of someone playing the piano coming from down the street. I walked round the corner and there was a man sat at an upright piano playing jazz with his hands and a set of hi-hats with his feet.
